Easter 2010

The DeCoursey family had a lovely, homey, and relaxed Easter. The bunny hid the baskets so well this year, Lindsay thought she didn't get one. We had to give her some hints. It ended up being in the dryer. Silly bunny. Abbey's basket was in the shower. I thought that would be a really good hiding place actually. What 11 year old likes the shower? After Lindsay claimed her basket then then noted that there seemed to be plastic eggs everywhere. It dawned on them that the Easter bunny gave them an egg hunt too. That bunny is so nice. So thoughtful. So wonderful. So lovely. So pretty...ehh ehhm. Moving on....The Easter bunny also brought them a really nice kite. It just so happened to be great kite flying weather that day too. Almost too windy actually. Jeff took them out to the back yard. I stayed in the warm family room and watched out of the glass slider. Bruce was captivated, yet terrified of the flying contraption. The best was when the kite dive bombed toward the slider and Bruce puffed up, hissed, and ran for his little kitty life. Mookie napped quietly in the other room, indifferent to Bruce's distress. Over all the kite was a big success. I'm planning springtime picnics with copious amounts of kite flying. Not to mention "Let's go fly a kite!" was constantly running through my head.We had our own brunch planned. I made a raspberry danish from scratch. Turned out really well. With that we had eggs, bacon, grapes, and an array of drinks.Dinner was very predictable. Ham, check. Cheesy potatoes, check. Fruit salad, check. Deviled eggs, check. Homemade rolls, check. Delicious? Check!

We watched our Sunday family movie and it was time for Jeff to leave shortly after. The girls have been having an increasingly hard time saying goodbye to their daddy. When will this disjointed life end? I don't know. Until I find out, I'll just eat some more chocolate. The Easter bunny did bring me a box of See's chocolates. :)

Heidi, you are killing me with your talk of Easter feasts and that picture of yummy danish [?]

Your Danish looks so delicious. How do you make danish?

The Easter bunny sure was good to your family.

I pray your house sells or a job locally opens up and your family gets to move on and accomplish all their dreams together.

What a nice Easter bunny you have! That danish really looks good--you'll have to post the recipe! Of course, that probably wouldn't help me lose this baby weight :)

Wow, that bunny was good to your family! :) The bunny came by here, too, and forced all the adults to take chocolate. He's a brute, that bunny!

I really hope you all get to be together soon. I know how hard it is to do the distance thing!

Why do we have to live so far apart? I wish that Easter Bunny visited me. We need to talk.
