Happy Birthday to ME!

Yes, it's that time of year again. Heidi {me} is turning another year older and hopefully a little wiser too.

It's kind of weird writing your own birthday post. It's not that I can write the 31 best things about myself. That would be a bit braggy.

Today I'm here in Kennewick and I'll be having dinner with my all of my family. Yesterday Jeff took me on a "surprise" trip to Portland. It was lovely. We first went to IKEA. We ate our cheap, but good breakfast. Looked about the store for a good 3 hours and had some really good people watching.Apparently, there was some Twilight movie event there at noon. They had Edward's body double and one of the extras in the high school. The line was short so we got some autographs from them. I have one set for my cousin Kaylee. Then I spouted out two other names for them to sign. So if there is an Ashley or an Alica that wants a set, they're yours.

Then Jeff and I went to the Portland temple to do a session. The grounds were some of the most beautiful I've seen yet. We had a good time. Our final stop was at the Cheesecake Factory for my birthday dinner. It was delicious and decadent. The white chocolate chunk caramel macadamia nut cheesecake was sinful and devoured. As we made our way back to Kennewick, the sun was setting and our conversations were light and dreamy. I love those kinds of conversations. I guess I fell asleep after our last gas break, because before I knew it, we were home.It was a great day, an exhausting day, but great. Happy birthday to me. I'm firmly planted in my 30's now. It's good.

You forgot to mention the older lady that was so excited to get autographs from the "movie stars" that she made her husband throw out his after-lunch coffee to and get them.

I like your birthday because if there are fun things to be had, I usually get to tag along and have fun too.

Happy Birthday Heidi!!!!

wow! you DID have a funner trip yesterday than i had figured you'd have...didn't even realize it was your birthday when i emailed yesterday...so belated happy birthday!!! i baked you a cake, swiss chocolate even. but are you still in town or have you headed back to spokey already? if you're still in TCs you could come enjoy some cake tomorrow night. we're having a family over for dinner & fhe. invite's totally open. =) spokane was fun yesterday (maybe just cause it was your birthday it was extra magical all the way around!). haven't been there in YEARS! so, we spent most of our time in riverfront park, which was fun since it was the community free-for all day or whatever. caught the carousel, mini-golfed, popped into the imax for "wii bowling" but decided we could wii at home, so we ventured off to find more fun. =) did lunch at cyrus o'leary's. was saddened to see some of my favorite old shopping spots closed (crescent court---where the melting pot & red robin are is SOOOO gloomy and dark...weird to see it empty, the funky groovy threads shop shut down on monroe, lotions & potions has moved to the flour mill, but was closed when we got there due to the lady not feeling well). strange. so for school clothes we zipped to northtown...my has THAT place exploded?! last time i was at that mall was right before daisy was born, and you still parked outside in the big old parking lot...no barnes & noble, no parking garage...WEIRD! was disappointed at nordy's rack (ok prices, not as good as i remember from growing up), but we knocked out what we had left on our list for daisy & drove home. good adventure, but i wish it could have included your family. perhaps we should have headed to portland too! (would've been good for daisy to see her dad anyhow...but alas, the timing was all off---and it would've changed your perfectly fabulous "YOU DAY"). so, long comment short, BIGGEST BIRTHDAY HUGS EVER!!! and have a smashing monday. =) can't wait to finally meet some day hopefully soon. ;)

Heidi, on your sweet day I wish for you the most lovely wishes, A wish that you couldn't touch or feel, but it would warm your heart and make you happy. And the gift I give you will come in a beautiful box. And when you open all four sides to that box you will be showered with the happy feelings within that box......

lol

anywho.....Happy Birthday Heidi! I am honored to call you my sister in law. I had so much fun hanging with you tonight. Nights like tonight are my idea of perfection. :)

Happy Birthday Heidi! This sounds like you had a wonderful day! Ikea, temple, and Cheescake Factory? Perfection. I would definitely not mind getting older with a trio of that every year!

And if there are no other "Ashley's" in the house that you had in mind, I would love a set! That is SO cool that you got their autographs!

Happy Birthday Heidi!

The Portland temple is so gorgeous, that is where we were married and I love it! Your post/picture makes me want to journey down there to visit it again.

I hope you have a lovely birthday!

I always find it so odd that the "Cheese Cake Factory" is decorated with everything Egyptian, right down to the Pillars and Hierogliphics.
Somehow I doubt very much that those darned old Egyptians, had ever even SEEN a Cheese Cake.
I enjoyed spending time together on your Real Birthday yesterday.
I love you much sweetheart.

Glad you had a wonderful birthday!

I can't believe you were in Portland and didn't even call me! :) Isn't IKEA fun! My friends were there that day too and got the Edward double's autograph.

This is probably too late, and you've left already for kitty feedings. But just in case, the other family's coming over around 6. You are welcome to come earlier if you'd like. Jeff & the girls are also welcome---we wouldn't want it any other way! =) Daisy & the girls should have a swell time, plus the other family has a daughter as well...and 3 boys as well. K, I'm off to clean SOME of the house. =) After a long day at work, I elect to only clean the areas I want people to see! Lol. Hopefully you're still in town. If not, we'll plan for another time.

Happy Belated Birthday! I am so glad you had a fun birthday! Mmmm...cheesecake. Okay in reading you post you commented on you falling asleep during your last gas break. Which you wrote just after talking about the Cheesecake Factory. So I got a good chuckle out of that because I thought the "gas break" was a gentle way of talking about farting. Read the post with my train of thought it. It puts a very funny twist on things. Again Happy Birthday. Wish we could have celebrated it with you.
