I wish that was my book because I'm making cookies and candies today. I'm not going to be super fancy this year. We've got sugar cookies and gingerbread boys on the menu. As for candy... I'm not sure yet. I did make some popcorn balls. Maybe I'll make marshmallows too. Don't you think it should be spelled marshmellows? Like, they're mellow marshmellows. Just me? OK. :)
What do you like to bake for Christmas?
I would also like to say thank you to everybody that left such sweet and kind comments on my Blue Christmas post. I wasn't expecting them, but they were just what I needed I think. I feel a whole lot better, still not very Christmasy, but I feel happier.

Baking??? what is that? Christmas candy...you mean the stuff that comes in a box from the grocery store? :) I do like to make a few holiday treats but I think I need to take a lesson from my very "sweet" cousin and do some bakin'!
You know what I like to make...you got a bag full. Hope you enjoyed it. I love making treats to share. Wishing you happy baking, Heidi. And FYI I have about 5 lbs of chicken wings, celery, blue cheese dressing and frank's hot sauce....
I'm glad you're feeling a little better.
I'm all about the Christmas baking and candy making. I'm starting mine today too! I'll be making turtles, toffee, caramels, fudge, finger jello, kiss cookies, jam thumbprints...and whatever else I can get away with :)
Glad you're feeling better! :) I want to make these: http://dreamers.marthastewart.com/photo/white-chocolate-marshmallow - don't they look yummy?
In regards to your question...I actually can fill you in on what you need to know. Let's talk at the family dinner and I will give you the heads up.
definitely like fudge for christmas!
"Cooky" Betty, is this because your name has a Y or did you flunk 2nd grade?
I insist on nutfingers and gingerbread men. And Toll House chocolate chip cookIEs with pecans!
I did something out of the ordinary today. I bought two rolls of Pillsbury sugar cookie dough. I've always made the dough from scrtach. But I had a coupon and they looked quite tasty.
I also made something really good last night from a recipe that was in yesterday's paper. Gingerbread pudding cake. It was delish!
mmm....idle isles here! i actually have the centers mixed up & in the fridge. just have to form them still & then dip them. should be yummy! i'm glad you feel happier. i hope the temple brings you the light you've been really needing. it always seems to work for me when things seem most bleak. i forgive you for not being here sooner (hee hee). as for sunshine? not so sure, but if i brighten your day then that's good enough for me! i'm blessed to have you too heidi, and sunday can't get here quick enough! we're planning on hitting christmas carol lane up on garfield hill either saturday or sunday night. we shall see. interested? biggest hugs ever! can't wait to hear from you. still have my number? if not email me & i'll shoot it on over to you! travel safely. =)
p.s. not sure if the temple's open for a partial week or not. we shall see.
p.p.s my hubby says baking store bought dough DOES count as baking from scratch. you open it up, read the directions, scratch your head, & voila! goodies. =)
i usually make mexican wedding, pumpkin with panache icing, oatmeal cranny, and chocolate chip cookies and usually either a fresh apple cake or a jam cake.
john makes divinity and fudge.
this year???
nothing has been made, yet!!!
lol, i guess we need to get on the proverbial "stick", huh:?
much love,
dani xxxx
I wish you had posted pictures. So what did you make? Something yummy I'm sure.
